Montala office
The ResourceSpace journey started in 2006 when Dan Huby and Neale Hall, while working as contractors for international charity Oxfam, identified a significant gap in the Digital Asset Management (DAM) solutions available at the time. Existing systems were clunky, outdated, and expensive, leaving Oxfam in need of a more modern, slick, web-based solution. Dan, a technical developer, and Neale, a front-end developer and UI designer, had previously worked on several large projects for Oxfam and were approached to create a better system. The result of their collaboration was ResourceSpace.

Soon after, other charities began noticing Oxfam’s new DAM system and wanted the same for themselves. Recognising the value of sharing this innovation, Oxfam released ResourceSpace under an open-source license, enabling widespread use and customisation. As demand grew, Dan expanded Montala's operations to offer professional support, development, and hosting services for ResourceSpace, propelling the company's organic growth.

Today, Montala Limited continues to provide exceptional service to a diverse range of organisations, from charities to large enterprises, ensuring ResourceSpace remains a leading, open-source DAM platform. Montala’s commitment to innovation, open-source values, and customer-centric development has solidified ResourceSpace’s position as the go-to DAM solution for organisations worldwide.

ResourceSpace offers a great balance between usability, configurability and price. Montala has delivered an A-star service.
