ResourceSpace has changed the way the DEC uses content, making it much easier for us to quickly make assets available both internally and externally during our emergency appeals.
ResourceSpace 9.4 released
11th November 2020
We're very pleased to announce the release of ResourceSpace 9.4.
The main development is a change to the way Featured Collections are managed. These are designed to categorise resources - for example, a 'Country' category, with various collections underneath, containing resources tagged with the respective country. They can still be organised like this but we've introduced the option to have collections themselves displayed directly on the Featured Collections page - with no need for an initial category.
Part of this development, and something that clients have requested, is the ability to select a cover image for both the collection and the category. This can now be managed much more easily so you can customise exactly how your Featured Collections appear.
Another change in 9.4 is the ability to manage your offline jobs. Once these are set up they allow you to run certain tasks, like recreating previews and downloading especially large collections, asynchronously - so you can carry on with different things whilst the system handles the task in the background.

9.4 gives users the functionality to manage these jobs - and they can be filtered by type, status and user. Administrators will be able to view more information about each job, re-start specific jobs, if necessary, and delete completed jobs from the list.
Breadcrumbs have been included on most admin and system management pages to make it easier for users to navigate around the system and we've introduced a new plugin that blurs thumbnail images in search results if a particular metadata field indicates that the resource is sensitive.
Full details of all changes in 9.4 can be found on our version history page.
