Build connections with ResourceSpace 9.5

We're pleased to announce the launch of ResourceSpace 9.5! This latest release introduces an upload link for external contacts as well as the first of a series of social features designed to help colleagues use the system even more effectively whilst working remotely.

External upload shares

ResourceSpace now has the functionality to share upload links with external contacts who don't have a login. This means you can share a link to a collection and the recipient can upload directly into that collection with no access to the rest of the system.

This is designed so that external photographers and designers without an account can get their content into ResourceSpace quickly and easily and then you can decide which resources you want to keep and make live and which you don't.

This should mean the end of third party systems used to get files to you in the first place. It also means you don't have to spend as much time uploading content - the external photographer or designer can upload everything into ResourceSpace with a selection of metadata and you can just get rid of anything you don't want.

My profile

Users can now upload a profile image and write a bio about themselves. This can be used to describe their role in the organisation and how they use ResourceSpace - particularly useful for new starters to get a feel for who does what and who they can go to for help.

Tagging users

We've also introduced functionality so that users can tag each other when commenting on resources. This can be used to highlight a particular resource to a colleague or to explain what you've just used it for. The user will get a notification letting them know they've been tagged - great for keeping the lines of communication open!

Usability

We always want to make sure ResourceSpace is as user friendly as possible so we've made more usability improvements in this release, including more customisation options for Featured Collections, a new design for the login page, and a function to automatically tidy up your collections after upload.

Those are the highlights but as always you can find a full list of everything that's included in this release on our version history page.
