New features in ResourceSpace 10.5

We’re pleased to introduce several exciting new features that will improve your experience and productivity in the system. Read on for a summary of all the new functionality, and check out the video below to learn how they can benefit you and your organisation.

Brand Guidelines

Our headline feature in 10.5 is a completely new area that allows you to curate your brand guidelines within the system, linking to logos, images and colours as necessary.

Many users already store logos, fonts, and other important material related to brand management in ResourceSpace. With the Brand Guidelines plugin, you’re now able to set out compliance requirements for your brand in a dedicated area. For example, you can describe which logos to use and where they can be used, as well as the appropriate colours for different branding materials. You can also add notes about tone of voice, along with any other detail to help users stay on brand.

The content is organised in sections and you can add text, links to resources, and as many new pages as you like. By default, you’ll have an Introduction section with an overview and a specific Brand Guidelines section with a page for colours.

For more information, visit the Brand Guidelines knowledge base page.

You can also download our complete guide to developing your brand guidelines - a helpful resource if you’re going through a re-brand or starting from scratch.

Open AI Image Editing

Our image editing functionality has also been expanded in 10.5. Dall-E 2 is still used for editing images to remove objects or logos, for example, but it can now be used to create a variation of the existing image as well.

In 10.5, it’s now possible to create variations of an image. Without having to enter a prompt at all, the system will interpret the current image, produce a description and create a variation of that image based on its understanding of the original.

ResourceSpace 10.5 also uses the power of Dall-E 3 to actually generate images. Using the ‘Generate replacement’ option allows you to add a description of the image you’d like to create. Subsequent edits can be made in both ‘Create variation’ and ‘Generate replacement’  modes too, and newly created files can be downloaded in various formats, saved as alternative files against the master resource, or, depending on permissions, saved as a new resource.

Visit the full OpenAI Image Editing page for more information. If you’d like to test this functionality but not on your own system, it’s available on our free systems. You can download one from resourcespace.com/free - and you won’t have to enter any payment details whatsoever.

A new look for keywords

Other changes in ResourceSpace 10.5 include a new look for keywords on the resource view page. With this feature, keywords now appear highlighted in blue, and can even be clicked to trigger a search for other resources that have the same keyword applied.

Email as username

We’ve also introduced a new configuration that, when enabled, means users can log in either with their username OR their email address. The login page has been updated to make that clear and when auto account creation is enabled, the email address provided by the user will become their username automatically.

More details about these developments and everything else included in ResourceSpace 10.5 are available on our Versions page, and if you have any questions, just let us know.
