1. Finding your way around

ResourceSpace is web-based. Users can access it from wherever they are in the world - they just need a web-browser.
Once you’re logged in you’ll see the dash. Here, you can choose a background image and change the colours to tie in with your organisation’s guidelines.
You can also customise it per user group with specific welcome messages and dash tiles that link to different groups of resources you’d like to promote.
The upload button, to start an upload, is here. We’d recommend adding your files first and then the metadata so you can tweak the values easily for each file - but it is possible to add the metadata first which will be applied to all files in your batch.
Metadata is completely configurable. You can capture whatever information is going to be most useful for you and your users when searching for files. This could be keywords, location, reference numbers, product codes, the name of the photographer and what conditions are associated with using the file. You can have as many fields as you like to ensure your users can find the resources they need quickly and easily.
The simple search panel is here. This is used for launching quick and easy searches just by entering a keyword or phrase. The advanced search link, for more specific searches, is here.
The collection bar is at the bottom of the screen and is private to each user. Users can have as many private collections as they like and these are used to bookmark resources in groups. Collections are most commonly used to share resources, edit them in bulk and create dash tiles - but there are lots of other uses too.
